UCLA Health Data Breach Class Action Settlement
A $7.5 million class action settlement has been reached, resolving claims that a July 2015 data breach exposed personal information stored by the UCLA Health Network. The UCLA Health class action settlement provides $2 million to pay for unreimbursed loss claims and preventative measure claims. In addition, UCLA Heath has agreed to set up a cybersecurity enhancement fund of $5.5 million.
Who’s Eligible
Class Members include “[a]ll persons whose personal information was stored on the portions of the UCLA Health Network that were, or could have been, accessed during the cyberattack disclosed around July 17, 2015, including those who received mail notification of the Incident from UCLA Health in 2015.”
Potential Award
Two years of identity theft protection through ID Experts. Up to $5,000 for costs incurred preventing identity theft or fraud. Up to $20,000 for losses or damage caused by identity theft or fraud.
